Hlid Hostel - Myvatn

The communal kitchen was well equipped and spacious. The beds in the dorm creaked and were uncomfortable.

its location is marvellous, really close to all the main attractions of lake myvatn, local sites and the scenic myvatn lake and krafla, great area. the staff is being very-very nice and pleasant.

The staff were really helpful, the location was convenient. Moreover, the hotel was not very far from Waves Indoor Waterpark. I had a family room and it was large with twin bunks...

The supposedly beautiful location was made unbearable by the stench of sulfur in the water. And, the bunk beds creaked like they were from a haunted house! I expected a warm welcome or complimentary snacks, but no such luck, just me and my sad room. Almost gave a good review but just couldn't, absurd.

Really enjoyed central heating and a sitting area in the room. Own bathroom was fairly clean.

Location: the hotel was just next door to the scenic Myvatn lake, the most interesting places in the northern iceand and all the main attractions of lake Myvatn. Furthermore the property was around 4-6 minutes away by foot from Myflug Air...

Unexpected charm by the lake

The vibrant atmosphere at breakfast brought together fellow travelers. With laundry available and a clear view of the surrounding beauty, I felt at home.

I found the need to pay extra for bedding frustrating, and the cramped room left little space for comforts. It was a tight fit, especially for sharing.

We enjoyed the very clean rooms and the big kitchen. There were plenty of activities to explore nearby, like hiking and cave exploring. The internet was good for our needs. We stayed with our kid.

My wife says that the room was a bit cramped for our family. It could use more storage for bags and gear.

Spider sightings made for an uncomfortable stay.

The location is fantastic, nestled within a fine lava field and surrounded by natural beauty. The communal kitchen was spacious and well-equipped, perfect for cooking meals. The room felt cramped, and it was annoying to find essential kitchen items like can openers and spatulas missing. The bedding comes at an extra cost, which adds to the overall price, and laundry services are on the pricey side as well.

The family room was cozy and the large kitchen made cooking easy. With beautiful views around, we enjoyed biking and hiking nearby. The shared space was clean and well-equipped for families. The kids loved the communal area to play.

My kids wished for more storage space for our gear.

Family with children recommend it for northern lights sightings

The shared kitchen was well equipped, having at least two of everything, so cooking was easy and we ended up making some good meals together, you know, as a family. There was a beautiful big glass dining room where we got to enjoy our meals with a view of the lava rocks.

It wasn't exactly cheap, but still acceptable given the amenities.

The location is fantastic. The shared kitchen was spacious and clean. Plus, the internet worked well, a plus for us. Best part was the friendly staff, always willing to help!

the bunk beds squeaked a bit. but the welcoming staff made us feel right at home. loved the excellent kitchen setup. very nice private showers too!

will definitely visit place next time.

Awesome place! Room had feather pillows and a seating area. Shared bathroom was clean, and there were handy adapters at each bed. Heating worked great. Loved the trash cans and the hardwood floors. Good hand sanitizer around too. Spa facilities were a nice touch. Perfect.
